Job Description for Forging Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders, Metal and Plastic : Set up, operate, or tend forging machines to taper, shape, or form metal or plastic parts.

Responsibilities:
Performs daily PM’s and 5S of forging line equipment and the line area;
This position requires a combination of sitting, standing and walking for an entire eight to twelve hour shift;
Performs tooling changes of forging and trimming presses;
Sets up and uses machine interfaces to operate a forging press, trimming press, electric billet furnace and billet hopper;
Checks and maintains fluid levels of line equipment;
Operates and adjusts forge press according to guidelines and in a safe manner;
Reads job instructions to produce specified values including basic mathematical calculations;
Works in a two to three person team to forge and trim parts for use in automobile hub bearing units;
Accurately completes quality and production control documents;
Reads tooling and part blue prints;
Uses gauges to accurately measure and verify proper part dimensions;
Operate forging presses;
Maintaining a clean work environment;
Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently;
Inspect parts for quality.

Requirements:
Experience in manufacturing and or mechanically inclined;
Ability to perform repetitive tasks;
Knowledge of basic machine operation / controls;
Ability to trouble shoot processes and line equipment;
High school diploma or equivalent;
Ability to work unsupervised and lead a 2 to 3 person production team;
Physically fit / capable of lifting up to 75lbs;
Forging experience;
Capable of working in challenging work conditions;
Mechanical experience/Mechanically inclined;
Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment;
Focus on safety Forklift experience and experience in a manufacturing environment;
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts;
You will need High school diploma or GED;
Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience.
